The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is the governing body for tennis in Great Britain, The Channel Islands and The Isle of Man. Its vision for British Tennis is ‘Winning’, meaning British players winning slams, ATP, WTA, ITF and Tennis Europe tournaments and, ultimately, the Davis Cup and Federation Cup. The LTA work with players, coaches, parents, clubs, officials, tournament organisers and fans to achieve this goal.

Problem

 

The LTA’s Blueprint for British Tennis outlines plans for the future of the sport. It needed to be confident that its technology base was able to support these plans and track its measures of success. Business & Decision, with its proven track record in delivering quality CRM programs was selected by the LTA to assess its current technology capability and create a roadmap of required changes.
The highest priority changes were:


• A more flexible membership system, encouraging more people to become involved in British Tennis through membership of the LTA. This needed to offer packages of base membership and add-ons to tailor the membership to the individual, to support opportunities to up-sell the level of membership and to send automated renewal reminders.

 

• Encourage junior competition through the introduction of under-10’s ratings. Processing hundreds of thousands of match results nightly to provide up-to-date, accurate ratings.

• Improved support for league competitions and uniform capture of information relating to team tennis.
• Improve the experience of the tennis community when dealing with the LTA across all touch points including the web.

Solution

Evaluation of existing systems with a focus on the Siebel CRM application. Implementation of high value areas of new functionality; membership management, competitions support and user experience.

Business & Decision consultants worked in conjunction with subject matter experts from the LTA to define and build optimised business processes in Oracle’s Siebel 7.5.3 CRM application and to deploy and train the business processes across the organisation.
